What do you all think about this cam?

I am thinking of going to this solid cam. It seems to be the best I have found. Anyone know of a cam you think would be better. The object here is 1/4 mile only. If you don't already know I have the crane 343801 hydraulic cam now. The one I am thinking of going to is the crane 341191 solid.

The only one I know of is the erson sitting in my block, it's the E240025 TQ25M. From what I've heard it should be pretty close to the 801. You might try tossing that into the mix and see how it looks.

270`IN 280`EX 220`IN@.050 230`EX@.050 gross lift of .542" both, lobe center 110`, 4` advance.

Engine is still yet to be put together, so I can't tell you how it sounds or performs. One of these days here soon though...

I'm ready to drive my truck.

With Rat looking for input, I just had to check it out....

My "future" 390 will be on the mild side and rely on a 270 advertised. I would say give the 191 a go! It looks like a good steady bump from what you already have, and if you are pleased with the performance from the 801, a little more won't hurt.

I love my 801 cam. Just want something a little wilder and solid. The 341141 cam graph is almost identical to the 343801 cam but is just 20 foot lbs higher. It wouldn't even change my shift points too much. The RPM cam only makes more power than the 801 cam above 6,000 rpm with my setup according to DDyno. I'll try to input that erson cam. I like to have the actual valve events from the cam spec card so I can get the cam dialed in right like it would be in the engine.

if you've got the ddyno cam disk the erson will be there. I don't remember the exact filename but iirc it's something like Ford e240025. I think I've got my card for the cam somewhere at my dad's house, I *might* be able to find it here in the next week if I'm out there. With my back acting up as it is, it may not happen though. I'm pretty well set with the erson, it's all installed and waiting for things to go back together.

Whatever you end up with cam wise, let me know how it runs We've both been looking for the same thing, though slightly different reasons. Lotsa grunt. Boo-ya!

Ratsmoker I would love to have your engine in a 'stang with that solid camshaft...that thing would go! I'll bet your truck is no slouch either.. cam grinds are really up to the driver in my opinion..but thats mine on that cam grind

It would be downright scary in a mustang. That is losing over 1,000 lbs and getting much better weight ratio on the back tires. I didn't ship my cam disk with me to Korea. I never really used it. I always go right to the website.
