Easiest way to remove tail gate?

I have some rust at the inside bottom of my tail gate. What is the easiest way to remove the tail gate for access to the location?

Open it to about 45 deg and pull up and out on the right side, the hinge will come out then move it to the right and it's loose, oh ya don't forget the straps first.

Couldn't have said it better! ^ Just a tip for when you put it back on... if you take a large zip tie or a pipe clamp and put it around the ride side hinge it will help prevent a stolen tailgate. Fuel for thought!

I put a hose clamp around the right side hinge and keep it locked; tailgates have gotten very expensive!
