need to pick between these 2 tires-
i have a 2006 F350 C.C. 6.0 Diesel / long bed / single rear wheel-
need tires soon...
i am thinking either- BFG all terrains,
Tire Details - Discount Tire
or Goodyear Silent Armours
Tire Details - Discount Tire
i currently have the Goodyears, they only lasted about 30K miles or less. NO tire EVER lasts as long as they say it should. i "may" be able to get a credit for the mileage and pro-rate/ cost off of the new ones.
if not, i am considering the BFG's, which i have owned in the past, but never used for heavy towing, they were 35" tires on my 1/2ton truck i use to own.
my concern with the BFG's is "sway" while going down the road. sidewall flex or "bounce" which i think i had before with a certain set of tires.
this would not work well, while towing a 15K trailer...
your thoughts ???
thanks.

did he ever have any sway from the tires ?
i cant remember what tires i had that werent very stable, like the sidewall flexed, especially on highways with heavy loads, and i remember the next set of tires felt really solid, and safe.

I put a set of hankook dynapro atm rf10's on mine. nice aggressive all terrain. load range E. no road noise. i know you said that you've narrowed your search down to the bfg's and the goodyears, but to me, both of these brands are crap. the bfgs are love them or hate them depending on who you talk to. they are the most common a/t and i can't stand them. the goodyears are just over priced. and on that website, the hankooks are the cheapest of the 3

Out of those two choices I would go with the Goodyear Silent Armours. I use to run BFG's on my Bronco they are a great tire they just don't last very long. My friend has the Goodyear Silent Armours on his GMC work truck and they have been a great tire for him so far and seem to be wearing really well.

I have BF Goodrich MTs and they are a bit squishy under load. I can't say I have ever driven the AT's though.

well, i got a $270 dollar "pro rate" credit from Goodyear, since the old tires didnt last as long as expected,
and since i wanted BIGGER tires, i went with the BFG All Terrains,
305 / 70? / R18 size,
looks great... steers a little bit squishy, but i think ill just get used to it.
i had to re-fit my FORD molded mudflaps, ( shorter screws ) and trim a little off with a razor to make them stop rubbing.

I put a set of GY Silent Armors on my 05 F250 just before I got rid of it. They were very bad as far as I am concerned. They felt like I was driving with both rear tires at 10 lbs. I actually pulled over to see if I had a flat the first time I went around a bend. Pulling my 5th wheel was a whole new experience, it was all I could do to stay in one lane!
I loved the way they looked, but for some reason when you get the E rated ones many people complain of the same thing.

Your new tires, regardless of size, will feel "squishier". The newer, more pliable, rubber along with the larger tread block (compared to the lack of one on your used tire), will exhibit a lot of tire squirm that you are not used to. Once you break them in for a couple thousand miles and get used to them you won't notice it as much.
