Could you decode mine? Vin# 1FDNF77J7PVA03353 Thanks. I an looking for a speedometer cable and transfer case linkage parts.

Has dump box on it now.

I know this thread is old but how would a guy go about decoding a vin on a 92 F700 vin: 1FDNK72P6NVA27258

any help would be appreciated...

1FD = FoMoCo USA - Ford Truck - Incomplete Vehicle.

N = Class 6 - Hydraulic Brakes - 19,501-26,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

K72 = F700 Diesel.

P = 6.6L Ford Turbo Diesel.

6 = Check digit, FoMoCo use only.

N = 1992.

A27258 = 1992 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

I have what a believe is an F700 not sure on the year tho

i know this thread is a little old but I am looking at a 1979 F700 and the warranty sticker or plate is gone or painted over according to the guy that owns it now, the vin is F70CVEE9098 is there anyway to find the gvwr from the vin?

Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch. It can be read even if painted over, as the codes are embossed on it.

GVW stamped on the 3rd line, far left (see pic below).

Safety Standard Certification Label glued to the B pillar below the striker plate, has front/rear GVWR's printed on it. But, if it got wet, it could peel off.

martiauto.com has ALL the original 1967/79 FoMoCo records, but charges for any info.

Passing along your VIN will get a copy of the original build sheet, can also supply a new Warranty Plate with all the correct info on it, ditto for the Certification Label.

F70 = F700 (gas).

C = 429 4V (7.0L).

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

EE9098 = 1979.
