I have one too, if you don't mind: 1FDNK77N9FVA65799

I would like to know first if it is. Second what motor we're talking about. Third a little info for the shipping company. Approximate empty weight with a flat bed, top of cab height, width at front fenders.
Welcome to FTE

1FDNK77N9FVA65799

1FD = FoMoCo USA, Incomplete Vehicle.

N = Class 6 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating range: 19,500-26,000 lbs.

K77 = F700 with 4WD option and diesel engine.

N = Detroit model DDA 990N or 990T 8.2L (501 cid) V8 diesel engine.

9 = Check digit, FoMoCo use only.

F = 1985.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

A65799 = Numerical Sequence of Assembly (the trucks specific serial number).

There are too many variations to estimate the weight (I wouldn't have a clue, regardless). You'll have to take it to a truck scale.

Ford truck parts catalogs do not list cab/fender and et cetera specs. These can vary wildly from one truck to another considering the gazillion possible variations.

I have an old F700 vin: F70EVGC7485. Call me crazy but would it even make since to put the motor in an 85 F150. I'm not sure what year it is but its been sitting a while. Not locked up but I have no other info on the truck. A vin decode would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to FTE

F70 = F700.

E = ?

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

GC7485 = ?

GC7485 decodes to 1980, but there is no E engine code for 1980.

E = If it has a gas engine with 5 valve cover bolt holes per side, it's a 361 FT engine that was not available after 1978.

Verify the serial number, because it cannot begin with GC / Or verify if the engine code is an E.

Welcome to FTE

F70 = F700 (gas).

8 = 1978: This is a diesel engine code only, but your truck has a gas engine. Verify the code and is it an I-6 or a V8?

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

CD9442 = 1978.

158" Wheelbase.

W = Ember Metallic.

F703 = F700 (gas), 23,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

M = Clark model 285V 5 Speed Direct Manual Transmission.

E2H:

E2 = Eaton model 16244 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.17/8.55 / 17,500 lb. Capacity.

H = Ford Front Axle / Tire Carrier w/Manual Steering w/Steer Ease / 12,000 lb. Capacity

F60DCW88000 // 176 / COLOR code blank * / Model F600 / Body 4 8 / Trans A / Axle F3 / 16000 / DSO 218236
Sure, you betcha and Welcome to FTE

F60 = F600 2WD (gas).

D = 330 2V H/D FT engine.

C = Oakville, Ontario Canada Truck Assembly Plant.

W88000 = 1977.

176" Wheelbase.

COLOR code blank *

F600 2WD (gas), 16,000 lbs. GVWR

4 8: 4 = Black all Vinyl / 8 = 81A Standard Cab.

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

F3 = Eaton model 15201 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.33/8.81 / 15,000 lb. Rear Axle Capacity (1970 thru today 500 series and larger trucks: There should be a 3rd digit of the AXLE code related to the front axle).

16,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

218236:

21 = Atlanta GA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

8236 = Domestic Special Order number. The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

* When there is no COLOR code, the vehicle is painted a non standard color per the original purchasers request. When this occurres, the vehicle is a Domestic Special Order.

It was not uncommon for trucks that were ordered from the US to be assembled in Canada. Decoded another VIN/Warranty Plate yesterday for an F100: Ordered from Atlanta, assembed in Canada.

Same jazz applies today: Oakville assembles the Edge, Flex and the rebadged Lincoln versions.

Compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate (located on the left door face below the latch) with the VIN on the registration to see if they match.

Peeps replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.

If the VIN's don't match, probably none of the following decodes are correct.

F70 = F700 (gas).

F = 391 4V FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

B10109 = 1976.

212" Wheelbase.

KT: K = Bright Red / T = Candyapple Red.

Type GVW (MODEL) code omitted.

BODY E2B: E could be a red interior, but there is no E2, and the B should be an 8.

2 = Clark model 282V 5 Speed Direct.

F2M: F2 = Eaton model 15201 Two Speed Rear Axle / 5.83/8.12 / 15,000 lb. Rear Axle Capacity // M = Ford 7,000 lb. Capacity Front Axle with P/S.

24,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

Year omitted.

460749:

46 = Indianapolis IN Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

0749 = Domestic Special Order number. The truck was ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
