How far can I advance the timing?
I have a Live wire tuner from 5 star on my CVPIs 4.6.
Last night I started playing with the setting and set the timing 2* more than what Mike had it set at. It sounds better and the power is much better from idle up to redline! I would really like to add more into both this tune and the 91 drag strip tune, but don't want to over do it.
So what do I want to watch on a data log to find out how close I am to the limit? I am thinking of taking it to the track in the next couple weeks and want to get it tuned for every little bit of power first, but I don't want to gurt anything.
What will this do to fuel mileage?
Thanks guys.

All the Live wire tells me is 2* more than the tune was set to when it was sent to me. I can Email Mike and find out what he set it to.
Yes, but I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Using a Snap On timing light you can check the initial timing and then run the engine up to about 3,000 rpm or until there is no more advance coming in and just read the numbers on the light.
