Rear Power Window Goes Down, But Not Up
2004 Expedition
Kids brought to my attention that the driver side back door power window switch will roll the window down, but not up again. I am able to roll the window up with the driver switch, so doesn't appear to be motor related.
I opened the arm rest panel and swapped the switches in the back seat and it worked on the other window, so doesn't appear that the actual black switch is the problem either.
Leads me to either wiring or the grey connector??? Not sure if that's replaceaple or what it's called. In looking at Ford parts, I am only able to find the motor and switch that relate specifically to the power window, at least as far as I can tell.
Any suggestions? Other things to look for?
Thanks in advance!!!
Jackie

Have you tested the rear passenger side switch on the rear driver's side window to see if the same symptoms occur? (In simpler words have you tried a known good switch on the window that you are having problems with?)
If a good switch does not role up the window my best guess would tell you to open the door panel and inspect the wiring leading from the grey connector to the motor to make sure there isn't a broken wire leading to the window regulator.

No, not just you. Made sense in my head, but I also had trouble on screen getting my words out. Thank you for the assistance.
Known good switch was plugged in to the door with the issue and the issue remained, unable to roll up, rolled down just fine.
Took the plug from the door with the issue and plugged into the other side, window went up and down. So actual black switch isn't it. It's got to be wiring or back to the grey "connector" that the wires go into that plugs into the switch.
Was hesitant to open door completely without hubby, but might get up the nerve tomorrow to investigate. All else fails, it will get him involved

Pull the panel off and use the known good switch and find out what wire is hot when up is pushed, then jump the wires directly to motor. You can also install known good swithch hold switch up and wiggle the wires where they enter the enter the harness and at the motor. Might have a bad wire. Motor is fine.
