Rubbermaid Console Organizer with Photo Goodness
Howdy All!
Here is a shot of the interior of my center console with the organizer installed.
It fits the width almost perfectly (about 1/2 inch short) and is about 3 inches short in the length.
So, I positioned it full forward and then bought an additional 3" x 9" tray and dropped it behind the organizer.
It fills the console perfectly with lots of various sized slots for stuff.
Its tall enough to keep stuff on end from falling over, but not too tall so I can continue to use the OEM top tray.
By clever organization you can reach all quick access items without having to remove the top tray.
They call it a front seat organizer which is why it never shows up in a console organizer search.

I also found this cup-holder type storage bin.
I think 4 cup holders for the front of the center console is a bit much, so I plan to use this in one of them.
I have it on order and will report my findings:

I also found this back seat organizer. Looks good and I will try it out too:

Mine did that too...I stuffed one of those expanding foam earplugs in the gap and it hasn't popped out since.

This thread actually made me look in the 'cave' for the first time in my 1100 mile old truck yesterday ! I THINK my http://www.amazon.com/Roadpro-Liter-...1899451&sr=8-1 may fit in there !!!
Wow - so much more accessible storage in this thing than the Ex's I had..
(with the doors, side of the console, etc...)
I haven't even ventured into the cave yet
keep the ideas coming

Finally got around to organizing my console a bit tonight. I couldn't find anything I liked off the shelf so I fabbed a bin up real quick that uses the factory tray on top. Some pics to maybe spur some ideas.
Started with a strip of expanded metal
Hammer into appropriate shape
Mark some aluminium angle for the corners
Drill and rivit to the expanded metal
Some felt tape around the top
Install into the console-hard to see but there is some 1/4" thick washers to space it out some from the side.
Install Streamlight charger and factory tray onto new bin.
