hey guys i have a 1999 f550 flat bed dump truck and I'm thinking about getting a 5th wheel camper the deck on the truck is 47" from ground to top of the deck is it even possible to tow one being so high?? a fab shop looked at it and said they can fab a hitch plat that don't interfere with the dump cylinder but I'm worried about over all hitch height. i can take some pics if needed. thanks

 

I suggest you go to a RV place and measure a 5th wheel that you are interested in buying a and see.

Without having mine right in front of me I am gonna say you are about 10" to high. Your 5th wheel would be going uphill and dragging the back bumper.

You could of course raise the 5th wheel to meet the height.
