Tensioner pulley

Tensioner pulley
Has anyone had any trouble with the belt tensioner pulleys being/going bad on their rangers? I have alot of racket comming from mine.
Is it a real PITA to remove?
My Haynes manual seems to fall short once again, and I seem to have lost my ford shop manual .
Any help is appreciated!
P.S.
truck is at about 70k, and I just put a new belt on, and I have narrowed it down to the tensioner pulley, there is alot of horizontal and vertical play in the pulley.

Tensioner pulley
Funny you should ask that. When it got really cold around here (below zero at night for many days), my tensioner began to make a clicking sound when I would first start the truck in the morning. Sounded almost like a lifter, or similar. The tensioner was easy to get off once I had the drive belt off. There was just the one bolt that secures it. Nothing fancy. I took mine off and sprayed it with WD-40 and wiped it dry (since I didn't know what else do do with it ) Then I cleaned the part of the pulley where the belt runs with solvent, and reinstalled the tensioner. There is actually a small tab that helps keep it in alignment when bolting it back on.
When installing, I torqued the bolt to 30-40 lb/ft per Ford specs.
That was all there was to it. Best of all, I have not heard the clicking noise since.
