6.2 vs 6.8 liter gas Superduty? Which is better?
I have owned multiple Superduty's and am planning on selling my 2008 F350 6.4 and buying a 2011 6.2 liter gas one. I currently only drive short trips and am tired of the regen coming on during my 3 mile trip from my house to storage lot. I love my truck other than that but don't want to pay crazy repair costs once the factory warranty is up. I also have a 2008 V-10 and love it other than the poor mpg. I usually only tow my boat (4k) and sometimes a utility trailer of dry ice 6-12K depending on load so I really don't need a diesel. I am leaning toward the 6.2 for better mpg and an extra gear. I also like the rear ac vents in the console. Any additional advice will be appreciated.

Sounds like so far so good with the 6.2l. I would imagine a leftover V10 truck equipped how you like will be tough to track down.

Trust is earned and not given lightly
After the 6.0 and 6.4 issues, I have a hard time trusting Ford. Every dealer I have dealt with has had terrible customer service and uneducated employees. The salesmen don't know the first thing about the product they are selling and the service dept. isn't much better. I've tried Lawerence Marshall, Joe Myers, Planet Ford, Gullo Ford, and Tommie Vaughn.

Actually, the mistrust is misplaced. The dealers hire who they chose, Ford does not have a say in it as the dealerships are independently owned. Also, the 6.0 and 6.4L was not a Ford engine, but an International engine. There have also been a lot of bashing on the 6.0L engines due to early issues, mostly when people mod the truck or do not properly service them. However many people are out there that have posted in regards to problems, there are a hundred times that many people that own these trucks and LOVE them... I am one of them.
OP, it is hard to say exactly which is the best to get. The gassers and the diesels both have up sides and down sides. Depends on what you need the truck to do for you. Buying a truck is sort of like buying underware. One size does not fit all, and if you buy the wrong one you will be scratching your butt and wondering why you ever bought them at the end of the day.

I had my original radiator replaced at 25K miles, then again at 55K. I shouldn't be on my third radiator with only 66K on a well cared for truck. The mpg sucks big time, 9-10 pulling a 4K boat an all highway! The regenerations are a joke and royal pain in the a$$ if you are not on the highway or a long trip. I also had the rear power slider break in the first year. I don't blame Ford for everything its also the EPA and International. But when I had to fight to get my second radiator because Ford didn't want to cover it after the 36K warranty even though they knew there was a problem with the design. I loved both of my 6.0's but sold them before I had any issues. My wife has only driven foreign cars BMW, Infiniti, and Honda and they all have had excellent service and dealership staff. I try to buy American only but am tired of lousy dealers.

My dad has an 06 infiniti m45, it has weird quarks like, the stereo wont turn on, electronics go blank, the engine knocks sometimes, etc. every car has it problems, there is one dealer by me that has terrible service, but the other is great, just keep trying to find a good dealer.

I share the same feelings. It's not just the two diesels, don't forget about all the other issues they have had on new model years in the past. Stuff like spewing spark plugs..... Not a new model year but I had a brand new 2004 F250 w/ 5.4L that developed a constant miss and was getting 8 mpg on a good week, this all started at 500 miles, after 5 trips to 2 separate dealers I got rid of that POS in less than 11 months. The comments about you just have to find a good dealer are great but it's not always possible in all areas. I struggled with the purchase of another Ford product after the crappy experience with the 04', I'm just hoping this one is better....looks like it already beat my last truck I've got 610 miles on it and it's still running well
