1997 Ford F-150 Mass Air Flow Sensor
#31
dj,
you should start a new thread because it gets confusing with so many different replies from others who should have also started a new thread for their issues.
To comment on your issue with little info, the codes do not tell you what to replace.
Working on that basis often makes you spend money on parts you don't need and just depending on 'luck' you didn't have.
An air meter would not prevent the motor from fireing at startup.
You need to find out if it's the PATS anti theft system or an issue in the motor's start sequence.
Unless you know how it works your at a disadvantage for trouble shooting.
Is your key any good? Is the theft lamp on full time or flashing etc.
Next, the PCM relay could be the cause, a fuse, a crank sensor, loss of fuel etc.
Check and list all codes you see.
You have some home work to do to get a lead on the cause before we can help further.
Good luck.
