97 expedition cabin air filter location

Does any one know where the cabin air filter is located on a 97 expedition. and how to change it!!!!! Thanks

There is one if one was installed as a genuine Ford accessory. It is inside a box that is reached from under the glovebox. Yes, one did not come standard in the Expeditions of that vintage - not sure of the later (2001 model) upwards. I installed one in our 1998 and also one in our currently owned 2000.

Can you post the part number for the retrofit kit that you used to install?
I've decided to add one to my 2001 Expedition. Already had the AC Evap cleaned out due to a mold smell, and installing a cabin air filter will hopefully prevent from coming back.

It won't help. The mold is due to moisture and the filter only takes dirt/dust particles out of the air.
