48 F2 +351w = I need advice
I have a 351w and a C6 tranny for my 48. I've got the bolt on engine and tranny addapters from CPP. I'm not sure how to go about it. I hope you guys can help with some advice on how to do it. Where could I find an article or a how to directions to make the 351w swap

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, specifically. Engine swaps aren't standard so no two are alike. That's why there's no real instructions. But it's not rocket science, either. Basically, you place the engine and trans where it fits best in the hole, and bolt your mounts in accordingly. Just make sure you have fan clearance at the radiator, clearance at the firewall, room for your exhaust on the sides and that the carb pad on your intake manifold is level. That's really about all there is to it.
If that doesn't cover your questions, just ask more. ;-)

Yeah the 351W is a great choice and should fit in without much trouble. Like Wayne said you just have to get it close enough to the radiator for the fan to pull air through.
That C6 is a great transmission as well - bullet proof. I have one on my 390 (which was a little bit more of a challance space wise - especially with exhaust). BUT the C6 is a BIG transmission and I would try to ge the engine as far forward in the compartment as you can - ie moving the radiator up to the forward position (the one for the IL6) to help with floorboard and firewall clearance. Trust me on this - an extra 1/2 inch clearance will make a BIG difference.
And you will have to do some transmission crossmember replacement with the C6. Be sure to be careful when you put it in with your pinion angle and alignment.
Heres a great article on it.

Have fun: That's a fantastic drive train!
PS Gonna put a 9" rear end in it too? Probably gonna need to for gearing!

Awesome link Julie, jnilion (great writer). Thanks very much. I saved this one for my build book. Your color wiring drawings are wonderful too, and very much appreciated.
Mervy49....oh btw, I am going to create a thread on an experience I had this weekend that totally blew my socks off. (not literally).
