Hard to start
1986 f250 6.9 New injection pump fuel filter glow plugs etc.. On a cold start truck is hard to fire up. After the glow plug light turns off it starts for about 5seconds then dies. I then have to hold the accelorator to the floor and turn it over for a bout 20 seconds before she will start. Why? When it is warm will fire up right away.

Sounds like you have air intrusion into the fuel system. First thing to do is to get a bolt or similar and block the drain pipe from the water seperator canister (mounted on firewall close to the drivers side inner fender).
Then consider ditching it altogether.
Also have a close look at the fuel return pipes at the injectors, may need replaced.

If you still have the separator on the firewall between the brake booster and fender drivers side, you'll want to bypass and toss that POS, it'll give you nothing but trouble, even with the drain line plugged ... A bolt will not seal it.
Then use something like this Racor - Parker PF BF811 6.9L Ford Spinon.
-Enjoy
