All Truck Nationals August 2010

Folks it's time for me to plan our tent set-up for the All Truck Nationals in Carlisle PA. This year's show will be 6 through 8 August and promises to be another TRUCKOPULLUSA!

Our state is part of the larger "Mid-Atlantic Region" of FTE and last year the Mid-Atlantic Region group won the competition for the most registered members at the ATNs. The competition wasn't real happy

(they even combined other groups to try and knock us out...but it didn't work!) Of course, we'd like to do this again...so I'm puttin out the word now.

How many would be interested in attending this year's show? Matt (Archion) and me will be be there but this year, the WV Chapter will have it's own tent area and I'm looking for Peeps to help us represent WV both in body and in truck. Your job at the tent/booth will be mostly to (1) have fun and (2) talk to folks from WV about the FTE.

Since this will be "our" tent...I'd like to see a great representation of Mountaineers and "eer" stuff to show our pride!

Let me or Matt know so we can plan this properly!

Man... I wish I could get up to the ATNs one of these years. The date is always really bad for me. Maybe one of these years I'll do a day trip up & back on Saturday. That's a rough trip though, we did that for Bikefest in 2004. 11 hrs on the road

Yeah, I understand....it's a 6 hour drive for me from Pipestem...but it's worth the trip!

C'mon peeps! Me and Matt don't make a party! We're gonna need some help here!

I'm in the process of ordering flags...how about a lil help here Mountaineers! Mountaineers have lots to be proud of and we need to be represented well! Besides...I really look stupid in a Coonskin cap!

Joe, I think you would look great in a Coonskin cap.

The musket, now that might be over the top and a bit scarry though.

Just got home from KC and the Skills USA Nationals, Jon placed 25th.

Truck did great, so I will be there this year, even if it is a drive up and back the same day kind of trip.

There is a swap meet. I can't speak directly for the size of the one at the Truck Nationals, but if its anything like the one at All-Fords.... its huge. I'd hate to guess how many acres of vendors there are at All-Fords, probably something like 20 acres.

My wife and I walked about 40% of the venders...and quit after she said "I've seen every part of your truck...we could build one from scratch from the stuff out here"!!!

Sorry I went throught Carlisle once this week on the way to McGuire and cant make it north for sometime.
