The automatic hubs are known to be problematic and can be unreliable.

i was talkin to one of my friends and he said that using manual lockers that it lets the hub spin freer and more easily letting you get slightly better milage. is that true?

i dont know about all that.. from what i have gathered is that the manual locking hubs are a ton more reliable than the auto locker's. when the auto breaks(which apparently happens all the time), your up s**t creek without a paddle. good luck breaking the manual locking hubs. the manual's are a much simpler design as well. i did the conversion myself and have the warn premium locking hubs. they have gotten me out of some sticky situations. overall it is about a 100 dollar upgrade that is well worth it.

Just bought this one yesterday - '93 F150 flareside w/81k one-owner miles. Never any paint work and the interior is original. I got LUCKY!

Thanks! I was just in the right place at the right time. Been wanting a nice flareside FOREVER and this one, for me, was the "Holy Grail" of flaresides I couldn't have really expected to find a nicer one.
