Nice looks like a great project! I love the old school brush guard in the front too. Are you going to fix it up as it sits or change some things?

First plan of action is to get her running ,then move on to the stopping . I'm not going to do a full on resto ,at least not now but I would like to get her roadworthy and usable. I'm going to change a few things but the flatbed is going to stay with a few mods, the front brushguards are bent up I haven't made up my mind about them yet.

She's a Stitt isn't she.....I think they learn to clutch in the womb.

292 is a Y block isn't it? The 312's little brother.

That'll be some fun. Get the daughter out there helping with it, if she's gonna drive it, she should know something about it.

After I got done with the grass I popped the hood and we dug into the old 292. Pulled the plugs and poured marvel mystery oil down every hole .Then we pulled the valve covers and located a stuck valve ,we have everything soaking right now . That little girl of mine was like a sponge, out there learning about tools 3/8,1/2,1/4 drives, and valves, rocker arms ,piston rings it was great... She was even spinning wrenches.

I'm going to try to teach my daughter the basics so that she doesn't get hosed by a shop when she's on her own. I realize there will be the day that I won't be there and I don't want her to be a total "damsel in distress". But I'm pretty sure her mother is going to fight me "tooth & nail" if I get grease under the fingernails of the curly haired monster. Now the boy...I have to keep my toolbox locked when I gone or I find my Craftsman tools everywhere after he "fixes things". I know he means well, but they're my toys....err, tools.
