wow fantastic. simply fantastic. but i think you forgot the weighing factor... MONEY
I didn't buy this truck I built it, and that build started in 2005. It did take years waiting for the cash (tax returns) and the truck I needed to come available at the same time. It also doesn't hurt to have a best friend that has a frame shop so your truck can sit for 6 months at a time.
I bought 3 trucks, a roll, a burn, and a flood, in all 3 trucks I had less than 9500$. Most of the paint and ect came from selling parts off of the other trucks to support my habit. All in all I have about 10000$ in her, but I have sold beds, doors, seats, and everything else I didn't think I would need as well
I am only telling you this because I don't make a whole lot of money, I am a college student and I have two daughters as well. I just had to wait and when I got the parts I worked my butt off. I still have to admit that I was very very close to scrapping the whole project on a couple of occasions. Throwing it back together and punting on third down. My kids and one buddy were behind me all the way. But I still got a lot of the "your an idiot", "why would you do that to a truck?" and "its going to look stupid" comments from people. I really wasn't sure until I was sitting there on a very cold Saturday morning with 2 trucks and a sawz-all. I am glad now I made that first cut.. But it was a very tough thing to do.
If you have the patience, the time, and a few tax returns, go for it... this was my one chance... and I took it. I hope you do to.

Congrats BigHazard on ROTW. Anybody with money can buy a truck but there are very few with the skill and resolve to accomplish what you have. That is a job well done and something to be proud of.
That truck belongs in a show. It looks cool as ice. I actually have the same hood on my Excursion. Looks a lot better on this truck. You got to pack it next to a smart car and take a picture. That would be hilarious
If this thing ever goes to a show I am going to roll it in MUDDY. if you get close to it there is a ton of imperfections and I use it. i tell people its a "go truck" not a "show truck" I will paint the whole thing as soon as I get me an excursion roof skin and possibly a pair of sun roofs... then maybe it will look respectable.. for a little bit.. Thanks for all the cool comments and I am so proud to be here.. Love this sight, this country, and ford trucks!!!!
