dumb move....

Been looking for an old broken, cheap van to move my newly HUGE family. Spotted a 94 conversion with bad brakes, hadn't run for a few years, etc. Nothing that would slow me down. Guy said it was a 351m with a 4 speed auto. I'm going, KOOL, a fuel injected 351M, with a overdrive lockup tranny. That ought to rock, those old 351-400 ran pretty hard. Then I got to checking, only one small problem, they quit making 351M in 78, so if it's a 351m, it's a real butcher job, or the guy is full of crap.
Got excited for a minute there...

Vans received the 400m, not the 351m, only in the 70's, there are none of those with fuel injection, I wish I could get one in a late van and get injection on it, that'd be wicked.

It's not out of the question on a late van. They make some pretty good 3rd party injection set-ups that mount in the place of a 4 bbl carb. With a little time and fabrication, you might even be able to adapt an aftermarket tuned port set-up for a 400.

I agree about it being wicked. I love seeing people adapt old engines over to more modern engine controls.

Think you can help me with a triple expansion engine?

Check into the 335 Series section of the site, there is a guy with a built 400 in there, I think he has an injection rail setup. I'm wondering about CNG and natural gas now, what kind of build can you get with it.
