noice behind cab??

I have a noice coming from just behind the cab. It was been getting louder over the past few weeks. It seams to do it mostly on acceleration. Is this an indicaton of my fuel pump going bad? It does seem like a loose part rattling. I haven't had any hesitation due to lack of fuel. What do y'all think?

When you check u-joints manually, the e-brake HAS to be set and the trans or t-case MUST be in Neutral. Otherwise, there could be a load on the driveline that you can't overcome by hand to detect u-joint wear.

It is also possible to have very dry, seizing ujoints that will make noise but have no slop. You have to pull the drive shaft and operate the joints by hand to be sure... Good Luck. Hippie

May sound silly but, depending on soundf of the noise.....i've had some heat shields come loose that make a good sized rattle.....just a thought

noice behind cab??

Thanks guys for the great feedback. The noice is a squeacking noice. I also get it when I stand in the bed and jump up and down. I thought that was wierd but I guess it could be a universal as they would be moving then too. It may be two differant noices, however they seem to sound the same.

Talking noice behind cab??

OK another funny one but I had a noise like that and found out that there was an ice jam between my cab and bed it made one hell of a racket when under acceleration but not at idle. Is it a mechanical noise or a scrapping noise? How long has it benn going on 4?

noice behind cab??

Well it's definatly not ice here in SC. It has been going for about 4 weeks or so now. It is machanical i guess. It is under acceleration but not braking or so I can tell. Maybe not as loud when braking. It doesn't sound like lose sheet metal. Its more like a rubber squeaking noice I guess. Kinda like the suspension squeak you get when you jump up and down on the bumper. The only problem I have with the noice is that it is hapening during aceleration.
