Best Scan Tool for 6.4 Without Reprograming Truck
What`s the best scanning tool to monitor the EGT`S and other various sensors on the 6.4 without having to go with a Spartan or Banks System that reprograms the computer or modifies the factory settings, I traded my 08 6.4 in and got a brand new 2010 6.4 with 24 miles on it.
Can I use Spartan`s Dash Daq to monitor these things by itself or do you have to have Spartan program it. The reason I asked about Spartan is because at some point I may want to upgrade and use there system, but not while the truck is being broke in.
I would also like comments on other scanning tools.
Thanks for your input,

Leon, I would like to know. I am thinking about getting an '11 6.7 truck and have learned that having an OBD II scanner is vital. My 6.4 threw a code yesterday and I could read it, look it up here, clear it (since it was not a big deal code). I did have my diesel tech clear the code though, but I could have done it too.

If you are going to go SPARTAN at some point, get the SPARTAN DASHDAQ. It will cost less in the long run. I just got the new insight CTS and It does not offer all the PIDs that I can get from others. Primarily Fuel pressure and fuel temp. Unless I am missing something It also does not allow you to datalog. I know the DashDaq allows both with the license. Also the strait DashDaq is about $800 after you purchase the license for your Ford.

I have been thinking about doing this also. I know the Dashaq is made by a different company. If you want to get one from them can you get the DPF delete kit and tunes later, or is the non-Spartan Dashaq not compatible? Also I can't seem to find where you can buy the Spartan Dashaq without the tunes, anybody care to help me out with a link or something?
