fuel warning "buzzer"

My daughter has an 03 escape 4x4 3.0 xlt. Yesterday the low fuel warning beeper started beeping about a minute after the vehicle is keyed on, whether you start it or not. It beeps in cycles of 5 for about 2 minutes and then quits. No codes stored, no warning lamps, and low fuel indicator lamp is off. This is NOT the door or seat belt dinger, it's the same warning beeper as the low fuel lamp. My tech is clueless at this point, but he is a diesel guy and doesn't work on the escapes. For that matter I've never heard any vehicle do this. Can anyone help???

once again Im a diesel tech. I remeber seeing this a few years ago on some other products in the line when I was doing more gas work. It was always the fuel pump module causing it.
sorry I cant be 100% on this one.

Thanks for the reply. My tech is going to a gas guy also--he's never seen this either. I was wondering if it was fuel related so I'm going to do the filter first and see if that helps.

And they say 6.0's are hard??? Gravy IMHO.

concern has nothing to do with a filter. its an electrical issue.

ok--I'll proceed with that in mind. Filter is PM since it's probably never been done. Vehicle runs great as far as I can tell--got 22 hwy going to LR last week, but I don't normally drive it. I'll wait for further diagnosis and get my meter ready as I don't know where to go from here, except to check wiring. I told her to expect a fuel pump just so she'll get the money "ready"--LOL.

Make sure that all the idiot lights-especially the SRS- come on at KOEO.

I'm quite sure they were on, but I will double check when she gets home from work at 2 and get back with you.

Recently had trouble with the connector under the seat issue and the light was on constantly. Fixed that and it's been working properly. Fairly sure that light illuminated this morning and then went out, but .......

It was the SRS bulb--thanks for the clue. It actually tells about it in the manual which I borrowed from the lady at the post office cause mine doesn't have one as we bought it used. Thanks for your response and help.

Daughter just called and said it's flashing again after I had it fixed. I'll have the code later after she gets back from second shift. If it ain't one thing it's another--probably the seat connectors again. OH well.

Code 47 instead of 37 this time which is either the seatbelt pretensioner or the connectors but still passenger side. Is there a TSB or a harness to replace this faulty troublesome one or can they just be hardwired together to fix the problem?

Yeah, it's most likely a bad connection under the seat.

Glad you got the beeper thing figured out.

Just an FYI--It was the connnectors under the seat......again. After I removed several items (again) and simpy disconnected and reconnected them the light went out. Thanks for your help.
