F250 Largest tire size?

I have a 2004 F250 Super duty. Does anyone know what is the largest & fatest tire I can put on without a lift or leveling kit (and not rub naturally)?

Thank you in advance

Had a buddy with 265/70/16 or something close. She rubbed unnaturally now and then.

I got 285/75-16 tires on my F-250. She's lifted now, but the tires fit nicely when it was stock.

Do you have a gasser or diesel? Rear is no prob, but the diesels sit slightly lower in the front due tothe weight. But generally speaking, you're looking at 275's, perhaps 285's.

Drop a leveling kit on there and your talking 305s, 315s, etc. For less than the price of one tire and a few hours out of your afternoon, you can put the leveling kit on. I have to say, the leveling kit and the 305s are the best thing (price wise) I did to alter the look of my truck.

If you're willing to go to a 17" wheel you could go with a 255/80/17E

255? Isn't that even skinnier than stock? I think he wants to go wider than stock.

You're right, my bad. I think some Super Dutys do come with tires that narrow (or a 245), but the OP did want wider. I was thinking tallest without rubbing and when you go taller, if you go narrower, you can usually get away with more height.

Thanks everyone for the input. I did forget to mention that it is a gasser and not diesel. I would like to put a leveling kit on but heard that it may have an impact on motor vehicle inspection, is that true (NJ)? Also, if someone could recommend a 3" kit that's simple to install that would be great.

Thanks again!

I'll let someone from NJ comment on the MVI, but I'd find that hard to believe. A good leveling kit is the one from ICON Vehicle Dynamics. Simple to install? I guess that depends on your level of expertise. All you are doing is inserting a mini spring pack under the stock spring pack. The job can be done with a couple of heavy duty jacks, some jackstands, and your basic hand tools. ICON has good documentation, and you'll get a lot of good support and feedback here.
