I could use some help getting the old Ford on the road again
Hello all,
My dad bought a '56 F-100 in October of '55 and it is presently sitting out in my shop. She hasn't been on the road in 20 years and I'd like to get her going again for my dad. The truck isn't completely stock, he's put in a 302 with some performance goodies on it. I have a set of headers on the way, but I need to re-plumb the fuel system. For years he ran it on propane, however the stock tank is still in there. There is a hole in the bottom of the cab with a threaded plug, which I initially thought to be where to start plumbing. Then I saw on the top of the tank there is a tube that has been disconnected from next to the sending unit and runs out through the bottom of the cab and ends with a threaded fitting. Is this the fuel line or some sort of overflow? I shined a light down it to see if it had a pickup tube, however couldn't see anything.
Thanks in advance, and apologies if I missed anything in the newbie articles.

First let me say WELCOME to FTE. Man a one owner 56 ford! Thats sweet.
Looking at page 61 of Mid Fifties online catolog the fuel line comes off the top of the tank next to the sending unit. I'm sure that is what you are looking at but this will bump it back to the top so some of our 56 experts can help you out.
