Need a horn for a 1965 F100 Pickup

Just discovered that my horn is frozen so I'll need a new one. I don't see it in any of the catalogs (so I'm assuming it's not something that fails very often).

Does anyone know where I can get a horn for a 1965 Ford F100. My understanding is they used this horn only in 1965 and 1966.

Thanks.

Horn

Lots of stuff can cause a horn to not work. Try this. Connect a hot wire from the tab on the horn to the positive batt post. Careful of some minor sparks! Horn may work. Then go the the horn relay. Have a helper push the horn button while you listen for a click in the relay. The horn button simply grounds the relay (no sparks). E-bay has a boatload of aftermarket horns. If you want an original post that in the parts wanted section. Likely someone there has an extra.

How many would'ja like?

That's utter nonsense, nothing could be further from the truth.
Which horn do you need? Custom Cabs have two, high & low. Original horns have a screw that adjusts the pitch.

B8AZ-13832-B .. High Pitch Horn / B8AZ-13833-B .. Low Pitch Horn.

Applications: ALL 1958/82 FoMoCo vehicles except 1972/76 Lincoln/Mark/Thunderbird with triple horns.

1983: Ford replaced B8AZ-13832-B with E3AZ-13832-A & B8AZ-13833-B with E3AZ-13833-A

These two horns were used well into the 1990's on everything. They look different but bolt right on.

"Squire" Don (camperspecial65) probably has several of each. Your local junkyards have many more.

I want an original one

I know many work, but I am doing a stock restoration so I want to use an original one, not one that just works.

It has a longer arm, so the couple I have gotten that the people say they work, do not.

Attached is a picture or two:

Here are pic's of the horn. Note the longer mounting bracket. 1965-66 parts do fit, but here and there, some are different. I understand this horn was used on later model to. It needs the longer bracket because it bolts behind the grille, and the wiring harness dictates where it mounts as well as the holes.

How do you know the horn on your truck is the original? Your truck is a Custom Cab.

I want an original one.
Which one might that be? Custom Cabs all came with TWO horns, so...if there's only one, someone removed the other. Did they remove both and replace with something else?

What horn remains? Is it the high pitch or the low pitch? If a gen-u-ine Ford original, will be marked: hi or lo

There is no difference between a horn used in 1958 on an Edsel vs one used on a 1965 F100 or a 1982 Fairmont.

When bought from Ford, horns came with the mounting bracket. Brackets were not available by themselves.

btw: Your pics of your "stock" restoration show chrome wheels and the engine is painted the wrong color / 1965 F100/350 352 2V: Black engine, Gold valve covers.

Hi.

One thing to try is hose a blast of WD-40 into the horn body and make sure it gets into the innards. Hook it up and tap it with a rubber or wooden mallet while trying the horn.

Keep the horn pointed in a safe direction.

The second (high-note) horn was optional. It was mounted on the right side where the rad support is dimpled but not drilled. Custom Cabs too.
