1965 F100 twin I-beam suspension
I'm a model builder in Dayton, Ohio and I'm trying to build a show quality model of a 1:1 1965 F100 shortbed pickup that is owned and located by a friend in Denver, Colorado. The main problem I'm having is AMT only made kits of the F100 from 1961 thru 1963 which all had the leaf spring suspension. I want to build an accurate working twin I-beam suspension at 1:25 scale with a 3" drop. I have an exploded isometric drawing from fordification.com of the front suspension components and it's mind boggling to say the least. Is there a source for dimensional drawings, since the truck is long out of production, or am I going to have to travel to Denver and lay on my back under the truck and measure everything. I called DJM Suspensions for some help and they politely said no and good luck. I want to make this look as real as possible. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

AMT put plaques where the front/rear license plates would have been denoting the year.
I've seen one of these shadow boxes (on a wall in a dealers showroom), the plaques were 1965, even though, as you said, all these trucks were 1961/63's.
Tonka made a 1/25th scale steel 1965 F100 especially for U-Haul...but it has no suspension.
Collecting Ford toys is a full time hobby in itself.
