2005 F250 4x4 Climate Control Issue

I just bought a 2005 F250 4x4 Super Duty 6.0 PSD. Today the climate control quit working. I thought it might be a fuse, but the fuse is good. The screen is black.
Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions?
Thank you for looking

If you have the electronic controls, try a computer reset.

If it is the regular vacuum / electric manual controls... need more info about what it means to be "black"

Yes it is the electronic climate control. The control faceplate is black, no displays.
Do I reset the computer by disconnecting the batteries (there are 2) for 30 minutes?
Thank you for your help!

I just tried it again and the controls started working...
Could it have had something to do with my pulling the fuse?
Hope it isn't an intermittent issue. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you for your help.

My 2005 F 250 PSD has done that three times since 2005 next time try turning on the headlights. Its worked every time for mine brought the climate control back on. I did read where it was a sign of future climate control failure and the unit has to be replaced but so far so good. knock on wood!

I've had my 2005 since it was new and had that happen one time about a year ago. Before I hooked up our 5th wheel I went to top off the gas tank before a trip. On the way to the gas station I noticed the display was blank and there didn't seem to anything I could do to bring it back to life. After refueling I started the truck and it came back on like nothing ever was wrong and has work flawlessly ever since.

Thank you for your idea. I'll give it a try when it happens again. In the tween time, I'll look for a deal on a new one.

What you're looking for is the EATC module

Mine has done it once or twice a year for the last 3 years.
At first I would stop somewhere and shut off the truck and when I would restart the truck it would work fine, then I learned that all you have to do is turn the headlight switch from auto to off once or twice and that works fine!

It seems to be just a glitch in the system.

I have a 05 F250 and it has been doing the same thing. This last time it has been off for 2 days. Read this thread, then went out and turned the lights on and off a couple times with the ign. switch off, put the key in and turned it on and the climate control started working again. Thanks, saved me a trip to the dealer.

Im glad I found this because my truck has done this to me twice since I bought it. First time I pulled the fuse and put it back it started working. This time it didn't I tried the head light switch and now it works.

Had the same problem, checked all fuses and all were good.
Turned the lights on and off a few times and presto unit worked again.
What is the deal with that?
Should I be picking up a new module due to imminent failure?

Had the problem just occur. Pulled the 40A blower fuse, it's ok. Pulled #24 ETAC 15A and it looked fine. Checked here. Had the autohead lights on 'off', turned to 'auto', cycled the key, and it came on.
