Block numbers are D3TE-6015-AA. Then there is 3027.

are you sure that is an 0 and not a C ?

3C27 would mean March 27, 1973
2nd digit is a LETTER not a number

Ford wouldn't use an O because it would be confused with an 0

Typing "D3TE-6015-AA" into Google, comes up as being a 240 cubic inch inline 6.

If it's still there, theres a metal tag bolted to the engine, above the distributor, that should say either "240" or "300" on it.

In two words: Im Possible.

The 240 & 300 I-6's share the exact same bare block, so thru 1974, the casting numbers that apply to a 240 also apply to a 300.

The 240 was cancelled at the end of the 1974 model run. Casting numbers cannot be cross referenced to actual Ford part numbers.

240 vs 300: The bore is the same (4.00"), the 300 has a longer stroke. Measuring the stroke is the only way to determine what size the engine is without tearing it down.

240: 3.18" / 300 = 3.98"

Is the truck a 1972...or not? If it is, it would not have a D3TE block, so the engine's been swapped.

The second digit of the casting date is a letter which refers to the month. There is no month of O since M refers to December.

A refers to January, B to February and etc. The letter I is skipped.

Unbeleiveable

D3TE - only means it was an engine part designed for a 73 Light Truck

The AA auffix means it had a couple of changes by the time trhat Block was ACTUALLY cast

I suggest to do more research intro how Ford Numbering works.

D3TZ could have been for any engine that was designed for a 73 Truck

6015 is the BLock engineering reference number

The Suffix is for change ups to the original design

Ford used the same casting number for several years on some engines (D1VE-6015-AB, AB1, AB2: 1971/73 429; 1971/78 and some 1979 460's).

6015 is the basic bare block casting number. 6010 is the bare block basic part number.

D3TE-6015-AA refers to 1973, but Ford may have used this same bare block casting number for 1974, 1975 or?

So far, all you have posted is the year, I-6 engine, the number of leaf springs and the wheelbase of 104 inches.

If you post the VIN and all the codes found on the Warranty Plate, when decoded, you will learn more about your truck.

There's nothing strange about it, and it's just what I thought it was, when you said the wheelbase is 104 inches.

You have P Series Parcel Delivery, the front doors slide back/forth.

P35 = P350 Parcel Delivery Chassis.

B = 300 1V 1-6.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant

P34479 = 1972.

104" Wheelbase.

MODEL code P351 = P350, 6100 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

TRANS code 0? A. There is no TRANS code of 0. A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

AXLE code 25 = Dana 60 Rear Axle / 4.56-1 / non Limited Slip / 5300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

GVW 06100 = 6,100 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

124 net HP @ 3,600 RPM

DSO 43 = Milwaukee WI Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the vehicle from.

Ford did not make the body it has, it was installed by an aftermarket body maker. All 1961/76 P Series were sold as a rolling chassis.

Only the front sheet metal, grille, lamps, dashboard, drivers seat was factory installed. The passenger seat was an option.

10's of 1000's of these trucks were sold to bakery's, so they became known as bread trucks.
