my new aero on the road

my new aero on the road
new to me
1993 aerostar sport XL model,
got it on the road Friday, bought it in sept 2009. previous owner never drove it in the winter and oil sprayed it regularly.
its a 3.0 and has AC only, no other options. ok it has the aluminum wheels and running boards like all sports.
76,***km for real. It had the original muffler/tailpipe and it had to be replaced for etest and safety. I put in a resonator from an explorer that I had in my parts stash. it needs to be a little load as my wife wears 2 hearing aids and this thing doesn't even have a tach. it doesn't even have any rattles on the gravel roads.
my plans:
no winters, maybe upgrade to some nicer buckets.
I told my 6 year old daughter she will probably be taking her driver's test in it
hell if I look after it, my 1 yr old son might take his test in it.
I have missed the aero, I had a 93 about 5 yrs ago and it was a rotten pile, but ran great when the trans blew.
looking forward to checking out what kind of mpg I can get with a "new" aerostar.
cheers

GOOD FIND:
a good rule to avoid rust: is to keep all drain holes clear and properly draining..
i routinely pressure wash the (inside) of my rocker panels/inner fenders to avoid the build up of crud that traps moisture salt and Acid.. i then blow all water out with air, i then spray with WD-40... i have also used Rust-Mort in a pump spray bottle.. ware rubber gloves and avoid fumes
you will be surprised at how much crud can be hiding in a car with very low miles.
this kind of maintenance should keep your car rust free for years
I am sure that many people on this fourm can come up with much better metheds of avoiding RUST, but (so far) this has workes for me
(WD-40 and Rust Mort)
PS: Please post a few pics. i would love to see your new ride
