help me upgrade
hi, my name is chris and i have a 1994 f150 shortbed 4x4 with a 4.9 5speed. i now have a 5'' body lift and 6''suspention lift soon to be 10''. and 36x 12.5x15's soon to be 18.5x44x15. the front and rear now have 4.88 gears with alburn lockers. my problen now is that the 4.9 dosent have the power that i want in the mid to high r's. i would like to put a 351w and a 4speed with low 1st. with the 36's i lost 5th gear and with the 44s ill have to drive in low range. my question is what is the easiest way to do this with a carb motor. what parts will i need to get to convert to external slave cylinder , and what bellhousing to use, what trany to look for, and how to get 300-450hp out of the 351w, and what year i should look to get all required parts. any and all help will be greatly appriceated.

Go find an '87-97 F250HD or bigger F series truck with a 351w and manual transmission in it and you'll have most of what you need. Your best move then would be to swap your body onto the bigger rolling chassis because 1/2 ton axles will not survive life between a built motor and 36-44" tires. Then it's only a matter of building the engine to where you want it.. which will require a complete HCI swap.

thanks for the info but i am in to deep already. i have put some serious miles on the truck with the 36's and the 6' suspention and 3' boly lift(over 9000 last year) and had no problems other than the motor mounts. the stock gears for some reason were 3.05 thats why i dumped $2000 into the 4.88's and the lockers for some major offroading. I would like to put a carbed motor into my truck and dont know the easiest way to go about it. i was wondering what trany would be the best for me to try and what year motor to match up to it and what to beware of as far as bellhousing and clutch setup.
