07 F250 Transmission Question

I have a 2007 SD 4x4 with the Torq Shift transmission and have a few questions related to changing the fluid.

1) In addition to the frame mounted filter, is there also a filter in the pan?

2) Has anybody had any luck with the "re-useable" pan gasket?

3) What typeof fluid should I put back in it and how many qts will it hold?

Thanks!

1. Yes there is a in-pan filter, when i did my 90k service i replaced mine.

2. I re-used it, and in 6500 miles hasnt leaked.

3. Mercon sp for the fluid, about 9-10 quarts if i remember right.

You can also now use Mercon LV, per a recent Ford TSB.

There are numerous fluids on the market that are now compatible with Mercon LV and Mercon SP.

Use ONLY Mercon SP, Mercon LV or a fluid that is compatible.

Had to go to the local Ford dealer to buy my Mercon SP, the guys in the parts department hadn't heard of the TSB yet either about being able to sub Mercon LV for Mercon SP. They still had Mercon SP, so I stuck with it. Took about 8 1/2 qts, I'll run it for a day or two and chack and see if I need to add anymore. Stuff cost me $6.11/qt. WOW.
