EGR gasket??

1. Loosen the V-band clamp at the EGR cooler.

NOTE: DO NOT REMOVE METAL GASKET BETWEEN THE EGR COOLER AND THE UP-PIPE.

I have never seen one of these. Does anyone know the part # ??

Man, I wish I wasn't on vacation! I have those packages in my file at home. It isn't a gasket that I envisioned, it's this very thin metal gasket, kinda like the gasket that is in the EGR valve kit. It is also the same as the gasket that is at the top of the up-pipe. You know, the one with the "tabs" on it.

When I went to Ford, the parts guy struggled with where I was talking about for the "V" clamp. We were talking different ends of the EGR cooler. Have him get to that page on His screen and you point at it. Would have saved some time.

If you lost the gasket check on top of the trans they like to land there.
Tip: to hold the gasket in place durring assembly smear vaselin or trans gel on the side you are going to put to the egr cooler.

If you are after the V-band clamp. you would have to ask for the mormon clamp between the egr cooler and adapter pipe.

I just suck with part numbers.

That's for sure, so do the nuts for the bolts

Wish I had read that before.

The difference between you and me standing at the parts counter. Terminology is key. I have to point at a picture.

Great to have you on this forum cheezit! Thanks for being here.

Thanks for the info, The dealer in Santa Fe did not carry the gasket for the clamp. All they had what the complete kit with the cooler.

I had to get the truck driving, so I used copper RTV, and will pull it apart next weekend to replace the gasket.
