Great lakes truck show this weekend at Cabela's

I went last year to this show and had a good time looking at all the custom semi's. I'm going saturday, hope see some of you there.

More than 60 semi-trucks are expected for the seventh annual Great Lakes Truck Show this weekend at Cabela’s in Dundee.

<HARDRETURN>The show will be held Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and Sunday morning in the parking lot of the outdoor merchandising store at US-23 and M-50. The trucks will roll in Friday for staging in the afternoon. Judging of trucks with their lights on will take place at dusk Friday and Saturday morning without the lights. The entire show is free to the public.

<HARDRETURN>The annual Parade of Lights will take place at dusk Saturday. Viewers can watch the rigs roll by with all of their lights on. The route will be as follows: west on M-50 to the Tecumseh area, south on Occidental Hwy., east on Russell Rd., north on Rogers Hwy. and east on M-50, returning to Cabela’s.

<HARDRETURN>An awards presentation will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday.

<HARDRETURN>Recording artist and songwriter Joey Holiday will provide special entertainment. He performs for truck-driving audiences nationwide and does volunteer work for children with cerebral palsy, driver-appreciation projects and other causes.

<HARDRETURN>The event was pushed back two weeks because of a conflict with another show in Chattanooga, Tenn., the weekend before Memorial Day, said Steve Lewis, coordinator for the show.

<HARDRETURN>There could be as many as 80 trucks on display, Mr. Lewis said. There were 49 trucks entered in 2009.

<HARDRETURN>“The word’s gotten out,” he said Tuesday about the show’s growing popularity. “It picked up last year when we had it at Cabela’s for the first time.”

<HARDRETURN>Further information is available by calling Bo Trout at (517) 424-4058 or visiting Home.
