intercooler all done, final product pics

alright well im a little late on posting these up, but here they are. deffinetly put the boots and clamps on the intercooler before installing, that was a pain! it was fun, i got lazy and didnt feel like grinding off every weld, so some are ugly but it got the job done. it has a cool new whistle/whine noise when pulling 6-15lbs of boost too. i lost about 4lbs but it pulls harder now and stays real cool. 1200 is challenging and stays at 1100 going up a 5% grade pulling 6lbs of boost and a steady accel and a loaded bed. around town driving can work against you if your really shifting the gears and in traffic but on the highway is were you see the greatest results.

I like your y-pipe idea. Good job.

I got it from my cusin rich (foxracing) which got it from flee bay, but yeah iPhone cameras aren't the best!

And I had a design change on the ypipe, the original was a pig to line up, I happened to stumble apon the pice of pipe I cut off the cooler pipes from the superduty fit on the perfectly almost like it was ment to be! But the original ypipe has a ton of fill to mate the 3" 90 degree elbo do to the oval shape

It looks good and im not trying to be rude but I would have gone somewhere to let someone else weld for you. Those welds are horrible

What's the fun in letting someone else do the work for you?? See I turn my own wrench, I don't know what you do over there.

And nope no leaks, pressurized each pipe and soaked em with soapy water and it's all good

Way to go! Nice to be able to say you did it yourself. It puts the 'Y' in DIY.

I agree also, nothing like a feeling of doing it yourself. This is, as stated earlier, not a beauty contest. I'll take function over pretty anyday.

taking the stuff to someone else for welding would have probably looked better, BUT looks don't matter right now as long as they work. obviously they work so great job man. glad you got it done!

i like the custom intake spyder...very nice...

my only input and i cant tell from your camera angles is to brace up the "HOT" IC pipe so there isnt so much stress on the intake plenum rubber boots or the Boost pressure and rocking cause it to pop.....other than that awesome man!!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe weld a brace from that to the cold pipe.....

Looks like it should work just fine. A couple of my welds aren't great either as a couple of my pieces were aluminum. I had to have a shop weld those and didn't want to grind them down. Worried I'd grind too much off. It looks like your hot pipe hits the ac. Mine was real close too so I put some exhaust wrap around it so if it did hit it would protect it some plus keep the heat in. Just a thought
