I Have A Question

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this, but anyways...
I came out of school the other day to my truck, which had been mud caked the weekend before, to find some, shall I say, naughty words written on my passenger's side. It really ticked me off, but I washed the part off and forgot about it. So yesterday, I washed my whole truck and didn't finish until about dark. Today I came out of school to discover that these words were scratched into the paint. This REALLY ticked me off. I was mad for quite awhile, and still am. I don't understand why people must ruin such nice things. Anyways, my question is, does anyone know any way to get something like this out? Would I be forced to have the truck detailed for lots of money? I don't believe the scratches are very deep, and I would be grateful for any suggestions anyone has. Thanks.

I Have A Question

Some rubbing compound and some sweat should do the trick.

I Have A Question

Definitely some mild rubbing compound, a whole bucket of sweat, and a good polish should take care of it.
Meguires has a good scratch remover/polish that some on this board seem to like. I have never tried it but supposed to be easy on/off. Search for the best wax thread. That is where I read about it.

I Have A Question

What would be an example of a rubbing compound?

I Have A Question

Take a trip to your local auto parts and look in the cleaner/wax aisle. There will be several to choose from that say rubbing compound. Mother's is in a red can and says rubbing compound in big white letters.

It is basically a mild abrasive designed to remove blemishes and minor scratching.
The meguires product is called scratch-X, I believe. It is in a black tube similiar in size to suntan lotion. Black/Gold/Red if I remember correctly.
