I'd go for the blue one myself, but what's the story on the white one? That looks like a strange bed configuration...

Cool. The 460 will drink a lot more fuel probably than the IDI, but it's hard to say. Either one would be a fun toy to have around though.

Better representation at the show goes to the white one. It's more of a "custom" piece being a dually conversion and set up to tow the fifth wheel and all...

lol...probably about 3 gallons to the mile with that 460. Although you'd be doing all highway driving pretty much coming out here (I've made that trip before) so you might do better than I think.

lol. well, my 91 got about 11, just under 12 on the interstate. and i know the old carb 460s are notorious for gettin better mileage than the EFIs...

Might not do too bad then. Never realized the carbed versions of the 460 did better than the EFI...figured that would have been the other way around. I took a 91 Ranger across from PA to Omaha NE in 96, and it did relatively well for a 4x4 with a 5 speed.

yeah. fords early EFI system was a total crapps shoot. theres a reason i call it ford fuel infection... lol. while i averaged 9, my buddy with a nearly identical truck would get 12 on the same trip...

That is almost too funny. Sometimes technology isn't always progress. But I guess nowadays they have it down pat as it seems a lot of folks are happy with what they get mileage wise, even out of the big motors, with EFI.
