lol...probably about 3 gallons to the mile with that 460. Although you'd be doing all highway driving pretty much coming out here (I've made that trip before) so you might do better than I think.
Might not do too bad then. Never realized the carbed versions of the 460 did better than the EFI...figured that would have been the other way around. I took a 91 Ranger across from PA to Omaha NE in 96, and it did relatively well for a 4x4 with a 5 speed.
yeah. fords early EFI system was a total crapps shoot. theres a reason i call it ford fuel infection... lol. while i averaged 9, my buddy with a nearly identical truck would get 12 on the same trip...
That is almost too funny. Sometimes technology isn't always progress. But I guess nowadays they have it down pat as it seems a lot of folks are happy with what they get mileage wise, even out of the big motors, with EFI.
