aluminum pulleys

I have never really been a fan, especially for v-belt..... does anybody know of a source for performance steel pulleys that work for stock type accessories?

I am getting tired of watching the belts eat my march pulleys.....

I'm not sure what you mean by "performance" steel pulleys, but if you mean stuff like a larger alternator pulley to reduce parasitic drag, then those are available through pretty much any Mustang parts place. Not a whole lot to be had performance-wise with pulleys anyway, and underdriving your water pump isn't usually a good idea with a truck, so it seems like stock is what you need.

totally agree on the "performance" of pulleys comment..... I will check with some mustang places on the two groove crank and water pump..... I found a ps pulley for the pump at a bronco place... I think I have a good alternator pulley lying around too...

Some alternators have larger pulleys. Stop in at your local starter/alternator rebuilders and they will have many sizes of steel alternator pulleys cheap. I put on a 50% bigger pulley and have no problems with charging.

Actually Hi-Po 289's had a large, 4" diameter, V-belt alternator pulley that places like NPD and Tony D. Branda sell. Inexpensive and does the same thing underdrive serpentine drives do. Plus you don't need to swap to a reverse-rotation water pump.

i hate v belts so i got a march serp kit but thats one example of old school performance mods from the factory that is easy for anyone with stock set-ups to upgrade too.
