The Ride With a Purpose - Little Lambs of Lima Car Show (56K WARNING!!)

Hey gang...thought I'd use this as a pic thread to share some of the photos I took today. Those of you who have me on FaceBook have probably seen the whole album I posted (no, I'm not reposting all 88 photos) but for those who don't, here's your chance to see some of the cars and trucks that were there today. All total, there were 39 cars and trucks there. Maybe in 2011 we can get some more Ford trucks there... SVT Mustang (had it's papers and everything): Mercury Comet with a 390: Several shots on a Shelby 500 Mustang. Sweet car: A newer Mustang with a really nice mural paint job on the hood: The lone Ford truck there, aside from my Explorer, but they don't get too much nicer than this for nearly stock 2wd's. Low mileage on this, and only had about 300 miles or more put on since 2006 I think the guy said: Ford Roadsters seemed to be popular street rods at the show: George's first car...a Model A. It's for sale, for $13k. Before you give me grief about this being a Chrysler product, there's a story here. The owner of this car is injured/paralyzed from the waist down. This car is fitted with hand controls so he can drive it. Beautiful deep black with the red tail stripes, and he rolled around it in his chair once parked and took care of any final 'dusting off' it needed at the show. I don't know the man's issues as to how he became injured/paralyzed and all that - but it just shows that his love of classic muscle cars was not deterred by his physical condition. There were more, with a fair number of GM's (mostly classic Chevelles, Camaros, and Impalas) and some imports as well. Really nice day, and some nice cars.

For our most unusual entry of the day, I give you "The T Bucket".



This plaque tells a bit of the T Bucket's story. It's a blend of a number of different parts and pieces of different cars. The body lines scream classic Ford Roadster, but there's also GM, Chrysler, and other parts involved.



The T Bucket takes his trailer wherever he goes. As you can tell, it's got a unique name to it...lol. He has an umbrella he attaches to it and they sit in the shade and, well, spread bull...lol.


Inside, it's fairly normal for an old-time roadster. The seats came off a Kubota tractor, and the rest looks like any other roadster you might see. Custom made top by a local person who deals in those kinds of products.



Powering the T-Bucket is a Kubota Turbo Diesel. Yes, you read that right - KUBOTA. Got it out of an old tractor, matched it up with a five speed transmission putting power to a Ford 8.8" rear. It keeps up on the road, going as fast as 70 mph (top speed) and gets a whopping 50 miles to the gallon. Neat cutaway job for the flame work on the hood as well. A real eye-catcher in that bright Kubota orange. Probably the most unique piece there today.

Thanks guys. Brian, there really were - lots of local clubs are getting wind of this and coming out...and the one guy made me aware of a big local "end of summer" show called Last Blast of Summer that gets some 500 cars and trucks (they had 120 trucks last year alone). PA Chapter is keeping that in mind for a September GTG...sounds like a good time.

Where was that held at, Bill? Definitely some nice rides there.

There's supposed to be a cruise-in every Sunday evening at the Meadows in Ebensburg. Swung by that way around 8:45 tonight with my folks' '88 T-bird, but by that time, everyone was gone.

Pat - that was at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship on Elton Road. I see the advertising for the Cruise-In's at Meadows in Ebensburg, but I can never seem to remember to go up there...or I'm heading back to Pittsburgh for work...lol.
