Spade connecter at starter is brittle

I need to change out my starter and this connection is crumbling in my hand. What do I do when I put my new starter in? Any ideas ?

Also my truck won't start so I'm stuck working in my townhouse development side street (much to my neighbors chagrin I'm sure). Is there a trick to getting easier acces. I was thinking to jacker up and also remove right wheel. Is that it or it is what it is ?

Often the bad spade connection IS the starter problem.
Change it first and see if you can save the trouble & $$$

They make a replacement pig tail for that spade connector.

You'd cut it off, solder the replacement connector on and seal splice with heat shrink tubing.
If the auto parts isn't open or doesn't have it in stock, you can make up the same thing at any hardware store.

if yours is brittle, it may be too late to repair.

a new starter is a good investment.

Cut off, splice, solder ???

I need much better access. Love for it to start so i could move it to a more amicable location. It's pointing down hill right against the curb.I haven't got that connector off yet but maybe by jiggling it, it might start so I can get it moved.
