use some fishing line and run it behind the emblem (use a sawing motion)....then take some sort of decal/adhessive remover to take the rest of the sticky off.

This will work like a charm. Use to work at a body shop and the older, well seasoned veteran bodyman used this method.
When I had my tailgate fixed when I was hit, they put the emblems on crooked so I made them fix it - took a hair dryer and rubber wedge to slide behind it. In the process they pried too hard bending the emblem so be careful.
Not sure if this will work on older emblems considering they had just put this one on the day before.
If you use a hair dryer or heat gun be very careful and use only enough to soften the glue. Too much heat will soften the paint and it will pull off with the glue. A hot day in the sun is pretty close to the temperature you want.

Excellent idea, I bet if you do this with a little heat from a hair dryer as suggested it would com off very easily.
a body man friend gave me a wide and very thin plastic chisel that goes into my air hammer..a little heat with the heat gun hit it with the chisel and she pop's right off..
