We're about to buy an 07 Edge AWD for my wife. It's got 21k on it and is kind of a stripped down model (no Nav, no Vista, no Leather...)
It's currently got an open recall for the coolant system corrosion (09M04), no big deal. No history of PTU seal issues...
Any input?
Thanks All!!
Please Don't tell me because I don't want to know but ........ IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PRICE. Dont tell me the price because it will just turn into a argument., however the price is the single greatest input on the truck because everyone could come on here and say the worst things about the Model etc. but if the price is right!!!!!!!!!!

What was your results? Did you buy the edge? My wife and I are looking at them currently but am slightly concerned about this PTU deal I'm reading about. Not that I dont understand that most all makes and models have something that is notorious for going. I'm just wondering if Ford has got a grip on the overall problem?
Yes, we went ahead and bought it. We are VERY happy with it too. We're getting about 20mpg in it.
We did have a rear wheel bearing/hub assy fail. And I think the other one is going too. I guess it's a fairly common problem - I did the job myself for about $120.
Other than that - everything's been fine (knock on wood).
I'm looking forward to seeign how it handles the snow up here in Boston. She'll be putting that AWD to work!
I'm also looking at the edge but seeing everyone talking about the PTU leak I'll be looking at the FWD version even though I'm not a hufe fan of front wheel drive either with cv joints and all.
The edge does look pretty awesome though as I wouldn't even consider the escape.
