Oil and Fuel Filter Change

Replace the oil, oil filter and fuel filters on my '03 6.0 in a personal best record time of 30 minutes yesterday. The fumoto valve is a big help, one of the best accessories, IMO, you can for maintenance.

My truck has 135,000 miles on her and have, knock on wood, yet to have an issue with the engine or trans. I change the oil every 5K and the fuel filters every 15K. I have the trans serviced every 30K (at Ford).

Have always used FoMoCo parts. This is what I paid at the local dealer for the parts this time:

Oil Filter Kit: $20.99
Fuel Filter Kit: $65.00
Oil 3x 5Qt 15w40: $45.96

I did have a beer; the rain was coming so I had to move. Otherwise, any excuse to spend more time tinkering with the truck the better.

If you want to save a few more $$ Try going thttp://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/
Oil Filter FL-2016 18.95
Fuel Filter FD-4604 46.95
Motorcraft 15w40 5 Qt Wal Mart 12.50 ea

There shipping is 8.95 on all orders up to 250.00. I purchase a few oil and fuel filters at the same time to get the most out of the 8.95.
If you purchase Racor Filters who makes the filters for Motorcraft (SAME FILTER JUST NOT IN A MOTORCRAFT BOX) they are even cheaper. (I USE THE RACOR FILTERS MYSELF)

Troy,

Have always used MotorCraft oil and filters in the truck. I took the truck to the local Ford Dealer up until the 100K warranty ran out for all maintenance. After that, I've taken over.
