Need a 48-50 grille...

I thought I could fix my 49 grille but have decided it's rusted beyond repair. If anyone has a nice spare one they would like to part with send me a PM. I've seen some metal reproductions for $399 and fiberglass for about $100 less but that's still a little steep for me...

There was one on E-bay this morning if that helps at all. Don't know what kind of shape it's in, but here's the listing:

1948,1949 and 1950 Ford Truck Front Grille: eBay Motors (item 260609503680 end time Jun-02-10 03:07:27 PDT)

Or maybe you can work out a deal with this guy...lol

1948 - 1951 Ford P/U Grille

There's got to be a million of them out there, surely there's one that's usable. Good luck with your search.

Vern,

I've got five near perfect stainless steel grill bars. Looks like they might could be used over a not-so-perfect grill.

Johnny,

It's gonna take a lot more than stainless grille bars to bring those puppys back to even usuable but thanks!

vern, how does this one look to you? there's two small dents in the grille bars, and two nickel sizes rust-holes behind the bottom bar. It's argent, with the white painted over it.

It looks a heckova lot better than the other two I saw!

Nickel sized rust holes and small dents I can live with. I have nice grille bars on mine but a lot of rust around the area where the grille mounts to the fenders and the center piece that holds the grille bars together is almost totally gone. How does it look as far as rust in those areas?

Doesn't look too bad, but hard to see with the fenders still on. I'll go ahead and pull it off to get a better look.

Gee Scott..... I never realized you actually had trucks on your property. Most of the time it seems to be covered in white stuff. I think some folks call it snow....

Yeah, yuk it up CA boy, at least we aren't in danger of sliding into the ocean

Those two Monkey Faces on the 'Bay and CL look pretty sour to me.

Yep Bob not that good on the grilles, but at least we got the conversation going.

And BTW contrary to popular belief, the California Coast is raising, not falling.

The experts know this..( GORE, GO home!)
