I'm stuck again...

Does anyone have or can get pictures or the a/c compressor bracket and the alternator bracket........I just need some pictures of all the brackets holding everything on cause I don't know where any of them go ....But the tricky thing is it's a 7.3 engine but it still has all the 6.9 stuff like the fuel filter and the alternator....so I don't know how it should all be put back on to bake to make the belts line up and be tensioned right.

I don't know how much it'll help because it's only an overview shot of the engine compartment but if you look in my album (there is only 1 album...) I have a picture of the engine compartment on my truck. Good luck.... hopefully someone else has some better pictures!

cast iron bracket is on the passenger side, alternator drops into that and a bolt is run through it, upper of alternator is held in by a stamped steel bracket that you can see in this pic by Cruckie:

On the driver side you have only aluminum brackets, no cast iron, and that big stamped steel piece on the front of everything.

Dunno if that helps any.

If you look on this page of my https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...e-heavy-2.html teardown thread, you can see the passenger side belts etc pretty well.

If you're still stuck, let me know, I can try to get some better pics later tonight.

I do like that! And thank you. That truck is a rare find is this part of the world, most vehicles don't make it to 10 years without seeing some serious corrosion issues. The trucks got a few little spots on it that need attention but nothing that will require replacing panels or reconstructing pieces. And, with 129XXXkms (around 80000miles), she's still got lots of life in her! XLT Lariat too, power everything... even cruise control! And it all works much better than my 99 F150 did!

So, on a more serious note.... very funny guys! But how'd you do that??

When we look at your album, we can right-click on any picture and select "copy image location" from the menu that appears (this is in the Fiery Foxy, dunno about that evil on earth that is IE). Then we can just paste the address of the picture in the post with the [img] tags around it and the picture appears for everyone to see.

Sweet! That's cool... does it automatically make the picture a certain size? The picture I added is a fair bit smaller than the first two...

you didnt get it right.
copy the link and then click on advanced.then click on the little yellow icon with black mountains i guess it is.
then paste the link in that popup.that will enter the image code for you.
what you need basically is this at the start of the link [img]
and then this [/img] at the end of the link.
give it another try.

That's what I did... the second time anyway. First I just did a copy and paste and it showed the link. Then I copied image url and clicked on advanced, then the add image button (yellow with black mountain) and pasted the image url in there. The picture in my previous post is what came up. But, I try it again...

Think I got it figured... try adding the one form my previous post again...

There it is! What I did wrong initially was I didn't actually open the picture. I just went to the album page where you can get an overview of all pictures in the album and copied the url from there. Got a small picture. Other two times I actually opened each picture and copied url from there. Got a bigger picture!
