1951 F1 Wiring questions
Hi everyone
I have a few questions.
My truck doesn’t have the battery cables and I am looking to buy them from LMC truck but I do not know the size of the cables.
I need the positive ground,
The negative to the solenoid,
the cable from the solenoid to the started.
Also, where is the best place to attach the positive grand to?
Some say the frame and others say the motor?
Last question
Headlight 3 prong connector, any idea which terminal is high, low and ground?
Thanks again and I will try to post some pictures soon.
I just might be converted to a fat fenderd ford guy:<)

Hey Mike, Welcome to FTE!
I'm not familiar with Positive Ground systems, but I know the guys at LMC (lived 10min from their shop for 8yrs). They're good guys and can answer most questions.
Headlights USUALLY the parallel blades are ground and low, and the perpendicular blade is high...it's that way on both of my rides. No difference between ground and low except that one is connected to ground, and the other's connected to your headlight switch/relay.
Again - This is usually the case...I don't think it would change on a positive ground setup.

This is the way the headlight socket is wired (thanks Julie)
You should use # 1 gage wire for your battery cables. I would ground the battery directly to the engine and then from the engine to the frame. Make sure all connections points are free of paint and rust to insure a good connection.

If possible attach the positive ground cable coming off the battery tot eh starte mounting bolts as the starter is probably the highest draw item. Make sure the connection is clean and paint free.
Also you will need to run grounding straps or cables from the engine block to the frame and a couple smaller straps to the cab front clip ane bed to ensude a good ground for your lights and horns.
