6 cylinder intake box for V8

I took the advice of some of you guys and bought one of those 6 cylinder intakes for my 92, only paid 5.00 for it. It seems to be a bit peppier, but I just have a question.
The open end has a bit of a curve to the left, pointing the opening behind the solid part of the grill, I was wondering if it would be benificial to cut the curved part off so it has a straight shot to the open grill?

Good choice on the upgrade, but cutting that won't help anything.

Yes the curve keeps debris and more importantly rain water or snow out of the intake tract.

Ok cool, I just wanted to get some others thoughts on it before I cut it. So now I won't. Thanks for the replies.
