95 f150 4r70W converter stuck in lock up

Hello all, first post here. I own a 95 f150 with a 5.0 / 4r70w combo that I use to tow my Mustang to and from the drag strip. It's got 116K on the clock, bought it with 110K on it and promptly changed fluid and filter in the trans and all has been good for the last few years. Last trip the converter starts going in and out of lockup on the freeway, got it home and now when you drive the truck the converter goes into lockup almost as soon as the truck starts moving and won't come out of lockup until the truck is almost stopped, it almost stalls the engine. It stays locked through all gears. Fluid doesn't look too bad, but of course I'm planning to change it again. I've searched the net and found no issues like this for a 4r70w, all I can find is problems with the converter not locking up nothing about it being locked up all time. Pulled the codes and I got TPS voltage too low, cannister purge solenoid fault and the code for the engine running in "limp" mode. So.... did I junk the converter or are the problems far worse? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct there is a solenoid that controls lockup for the converter. In my troubleshooting I actually cut the wire that runs that solenoid to see if it was an electronics issue but no change, it did the exact same thing.

I actually bought a new torque converter but haven't installed it yet. As soon as I do I'll post the results.

What do you mean it went into "lockup"? What's that mean, and what's it feel like?

I would suggest replacing the tcc solenoid. It is easy. It could be stuck closed and not actuating. All you have to do is drop the pan, disconnect the harness and remove one bolt to get it out.
