EMERGENCY!!!! EMERGENCY!!!! EMERGENCY!!!!

EMERGENCY!!!! HEEELLLP!!!!
HELP!!!!
My truck is dead in the water! I believe the power bandss are to blame, meaning my tranny is fubared. But that's the worries. I need help! My girl is on the side of the freeway at this moment, and I need to get her home! we only have a little 4 banger putt-putt, and can't use that to get it home. I put a big note on the front window with my number to call me before towing it and that I would be back tomorrow (7/4/10) to get it.

Anyway, I have zero dollars, and need to get it home. Anybody able to help me out? I'll be eternally grateful... I just don't want teh city/county to have anohter truck to squish, plus be vehicle less.....

Anyone heard if he got it figured out? If I was close I'd definitely give a hand.

Sorry for the wait guys. I appologise. Working in the sun for a couple days does wonders on your brain..

anywho, the truck has been moved from the freeway to a street next to a resteraunt. Now I just gotta haul it home.

Hoping to use a tow strap tomorrow with my uncles truck....if not..well...have to figure something out..

gangstakr, I didn't forget about you, I just now got home from another looooong day, and just got your pm. I will keep you all posted.

Out of curiosity...is it fairly easy to doa tranny rebuild? I've never done anyhitng with a transmission before...just wondering if it'd be better time/money to get a used/rebuilt one, or rebuild mine....

It's super easy to rebuild a transmission, if you've been doing it for a while... Since you haven't let someone else do it. It get a reman and install it myself. The one for my truck is around $900.

I was wondering how you got the truck off the freeway, did it just cool down and was able to drive?

I got it off the freeway by pushing it...didn't have a truck available so we pushed it, and a passerby was kind enough to use her suv (I wanna say it was a Honda Passport, but I really didn't get a good look nor her name, which I wanted to thank her) to push it off the freeway and into a parking area. She was really nice, and one of only two people who stopped.

The first was a taxi cab the night it broke down, and I used his phone to call mi familia. She was the second, and she helped us move it. Somedays I feel rather alone in that I seem to be one of the few left who will stop and offer a hand to somebody on the side of the road.

Thank you everybody! My uncle decided he'd rather tow strap it than me drive it in reverse. Now it's home. And now, he just did the brakes, he was worried about damaging it. Whcich didn't happen, and wouldn't have if he had listened to me. He attempted to move his truck as normal at a light (a block from my apt.'s) and the tow strap's (all 4) ripped clean apart, but not before his hitch came off with them! His tow hitch came off!

Meanwhile my truck just rolled a bit forward slowly, me laughing my butt off.

His truck is ok, just missing the tow hitch. Mines perfectly fine. No damage. Well, no new damage anyway.

But shes home, and now the fun begins tomorrow.

Btw, his truck is an '03 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab.

LMAO I would have been laughing there too. Well at least it's home. Definitely know the feeling of a broken truck so close to home. Well let us know how it turns out. Good luck, hope it's cheap so you can do some mods instead.

Yeah, it was a sight to see. I have to admit, that's a new one in my book. I've seen some stuff, but that one takes the cake thus far. Wish I had gotten some pics or video, though.
