I had a mechanic tell me that he doesn't buy his gaskets from Fisher Auto Part now Federal Auto Parts. Nor does he buy them from Advanced, Pep Boys, or Auto Zone. He told me where he buys them from but they are not a big name and I never heard of them before.
Did anyone ever have problems with gaskets from big name auto supply companies?
Big name companies carry most of the same gaskets as everyone else. Federal Mogul/Felpro/National are very big names. Felpro is great for engine gaskets. Head gaskets do offer some options such as SGE and Mr.Gasket. The plus side to Felpro is they make sets, such as head set that will include pretty much every gasket you need to replace the head gasket.
Where you buy them is up to you. The are covered by the same manufactures warranty regardless.
been having issues with felpro for a bit now on the flatheads and my late models . bought gasket sets from egge for the stuff i have from a company called BEST GASKET < and no more problems with annoying little leaks etc. or missing gaskets i have to buy separately{ that is annoying !!!!! }
